The Homeland Security and Defense industry is relatively new and was established as a federal entity following the events of 9/11. Backed by a grant from Workforce Florida, Inc., the Employ Florida Banner Center for Homeland Security and Defense at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida, is the lead institution for the homeland security industry.

The Banner Center provides citizens and professionals alike in the state of Florida with a one-stop center for education, training and information on the issue. We offer innovative, resourceful, and practical information and training on key issues relating to homeland security, terrorism and emergency response for Florida Industries.
